Evenings grow longer, the chai gets stronger, and the bed becomes the best place in the home. A good blanket is a big part of that feeling. This page helps you find yours: the names we carry, which size fits your bed, and how the materials differ.

The names on our shelves

Among our newest arrivals are four names. Mora blankets come in acrylic, in deep solids, geometric weaves and an embossed leaf design. Biederlack includes the Plush Home blankets, made in Germany. Pierre Cardin and Tom Tailor add more acrylic choices, and the Pierre Cardin Nancy blanket alone comes in eighteen colours.

Pierre Cardin blankets, two designs in two sizes

Jagdish Store stocks two Pierre Cardin blankets, Nancy and Roche 745, both acrylic and both in king and single sizes. Nancy costs ₹30,599 in king size and ₹23,099 in single. Roche 745 costs ₹17,199 in king size and ₹13,100 in single.

Nancy is a solid colour blanket. The king size, 220 x 240 cm, comes in eighteen shades, from navy and anthra to salmon, water green and caramel, and the single, 160 x 240 cm, in sixteen. Roche 745 is striped, in burgundy, opal rose, grey, off white and vision for king size, with four of those shades in single.

Both are made in India by Spread Home Products. Roche 745 is cut to different sizes from Nancy: 90 x 100 inches (228.6 x 254 cm) in king and 60 x 90 inches (152.4 x 228.6 cm) in single, so check those figures against your mattress before you order.

Getting the size right

Blanket sizes vary by maker, so check the measurement on each product page rather than the word single or double. Most single blankets here run from 150 x 200 cm to 160 x 240 cm, while the Biederlack Plush Home single is a generous 220 x 240 cm, the same as most of our double blankets. Measure your mattress width, add its depth twice, and compare that with the width of the blanket to see how far it will fall over each side.

Acrylic or polyester

Most blankets here are acrylic, a synthetic fibre first made as an alternative to wool. It feels soft, weighs less than wool of the same thickness and holds deep colours well. The Biederlack Plush Home blankets are polyester, with a smooth plush surface. Whichever you choose, follow the care label and keep it away from high heat when washing and drying.

One last thing before you choose

When your new blanket arrives, open it out in an airy room for an hour before the first night, so the packing folds relax and any packaging smell fades. At the end of winter, wash or clean it as the care label says, let it dry fully, and store it in a cotton bag in the almirah rather than plastic, so it stays fresh for the next season.
