About Supima Cotton
The main reason behind Supima cotton’s premium quality is its extra-long staple (ELS) fiber length. Regular cotton fibers are usually around 22 mm, while Supima fibers average around 35 mm, making them significantly longer and smoother.
This creates stronger yarns with fewer loose fiber ends, which improves softness, durability, and resistance to pilling. Supima cotton is also known for better color retention because the fiber absorbs dye more evenly and deeply.
